Canoe-a-thon To Help Local River Protection

Canoe-a-thon 2009 is a Paddle Georgia fundraising event that will help support efforts to preserve and protect our North Georgia Rivers. Here is the way it works:

Participants of Paddle Georgia will solicit pledges for donations for each mile of the event that they complete (92 miles in all). The money raised will support the Georgia Rivers Network, The Coosawattee River Alliance and The New Echota Rivers Alliance. These non-profit organizations need your support to help preserve and protect the Coosawattee and Oostanaula rivers.

Contributions can be made to Paddle Georgia and sent to Joe Cook, Paddle Georgia Coordinator; Coosa River Basin Initiative, 408 Broad St., Rome, Ga. 30161.
